Not so funny story

You know how you have those moments as a mom when the house is abnormally quiet and you know it can mean nothing but trouble? Well, yesterday I had such a moment. I was unloading the dishwasher and helping the older girls with their homework and all was peaceful-or so I thought. Suddenly I had a panic moment and called out 'Charis! Where are you?'. In the other room I heard a faint,'here mommy'. That was clue number one that something was up. As I turned the corner I saw Charis, standing in the middle of the living room, scissors in one hand and my down throw blanket in the other, and feathers as far as the eye can see. Can you guess what happened? Yup! The blankets had little cut holes all through out and Charis was digging her little chubby fingers in these holes to de-feather my throw blanket. Though Charis and I survived and have lived to see another day, my poor comfy down blanket did not.

Oh Amy! I'm so sorry... Charis must have much better skills with cutting than Sarah at this point...

Oh, so sad! I'll hide all my scissors when you come :-)

When I read the word scissors, my first thought was she cut her hair. I'm not sure if that would have been better or worse-hair grows back.

OH Man, thats pretty funny. I say the sacrifice of the blanket is worth the memory this story will give you.

Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your heart must have dropped to your feet. That is so hard...Charis was probably sooo proud of her cutting skills...and was sooo excited to show you...and you were thinking Lord help me not hurt my daughter :) I hope the throw wasn't too expensive.
